Low Strung - Decaf

Low Strung - Decaf

Greater Goods' Low Strung proves decaf doesn't mean dialed back. This Colombian coffee undergoes the sugar cane process—a natural decaffeination method using molasses-derived ethyl acetate that strips caffeine while protecting the bean's intrinsic character. The result is a medium-dark roast that drinks like the full-throttle thing: sweet toffee up front, roasted hazelnut through the middle, and a silky dark chocolate finish that lingers without bitterness.

Tasting Notes

Expect a round, approachable body with moderate acidity—smooth enough for evening sipping but structured enough to stand up to milk. The toffee sweetness is immediate, followed by a nutty richness that recalls hazelnuts toasted in butter. The chocolate finish is clean and mellow, never acrid or flat. This is decaf that tastes like intention, not subtraction.

Brew Methods

Low Strung shines across methods. Pull it as espresso for a creamy, forgiving shot that works beautifully in milk drinks—cappuccinos and lattes come out balanced and sweet. For drip or pour over, aim for a medium grind and standard ratios; the sugar cane process preserves enough soluble material that extraction is forgiving. French press brings out the chocolate and body. Cold brew turns it into dessert.
